Hi! I'm Christopher Brust, a theoretical physicist-turned-machine learning engineer at Duolingo.
A Little About Myself.
I'm presently a machine learning engineer at Duolingo, working on user acquisition and also supporting the efforts of the research team. Before that, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo, Ontario, where I conducted research in theoretical physics. I earned a Ph.D. in physics from Johns Hopkins University in 2014, and an M.S. and B.S. in physics from Carnegie Mellon University before that.
My career has transitioned into, among other things, applications of machine learning research in industry. My main interests lie in natural language processing, computer vision, and novel applications of machine learning.
